I will dominate 'credible combatant' Paul - Joshua
The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.
British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the combatants came face-to-face to promote the upcoming bout.
Former twice world boxing king Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive disparity - at Miami arena on December 19th.
Boxer's Mentality
"I'm going to injure his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, stated.
"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.
"I intend to really want to injure him. That's my goal."
Civil Exchange
In spite of those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically recognized for his showmanship - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.
Targeting Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British rival Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer stated.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he remarked.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.
Financial Attraction
Nevertheless, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's largest financial successes, regularly earning massive paydays.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old anticipated a KO victory in rounds four or five and asserted he would prevent the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.
"It's going to be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul said.
Size Disparity
As Joshua and Paul met for the customary face-off, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it emphasized just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the match is really going ahead.
